Membership of the Dyslexia-SPELD Foundation WA (Inc) entitles you to apply for access to our Tutor Register which contains a list of DSF trained Tutors and Specialist Teachers. Once a tutor is located through the register and you have made arrangements for Tutoring, a private contractual arrangement is established between you and your chosen tutor. The tutoring is, however, monitored by DSF with regular reports provided to both parents and the DSF Tutor Manager. The current recommended hourly rate for a DSF tutor is between $55 and $85.

It is important that you renew your membership with the Foundation each year in order for this arrangement to continue and to ensure that full insurance cover is maintained. Please be aware, in the event that membership lapses, DSF will advise the Tutor concerned.

A refundable fee of $50, in addition to your membership fee, is payable for this request to be processed. This fee is to cover administration costs and will be repaid to you by way of a reduced tutoring rate across the first two tutoring sessions. In the event you are unable to locate a suitable tutor, this fee will be refunded to you in full by DSF.

It is essential that you advise DSF once you have secured a Tutor to ensure records are up-to-date and we are able to monitor your child’s progress throughout tutoring. You can notify us by simply sending an email with the name of the tutor and your child’s name. Once DSF is notified of your tutoring arrangements, the Tutor Management team can ensure you receive your refundable administration fee.

If you are not a current member of DSF you can join and access the Tutor Finder after completing this membership + tutor request form. Once you have completed the form you will be able to access the Tutor Finder. You will have access to the Tutor Finder for four weeks. If you don’t manage to find a tutor within this time or the tutor finder page does not help you then please contact the DSF office.

Existing Members may still need to submit a Tutor Request form if they haven’t already done so. Follow these instructions to access the Tutor Finder;
